Man arrested in Caesars Atlantic City robbery

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- As reported by The Press of Atlantic City: "A Brooklyn man brutally robbed two Caesars Atlantic City customers of $2,200 Sunday night, police said, then stayed in town to gamble.

"He lost.

"Surveillance footage and a composite sketch from the victims' description circulated to all 11 casinos. And Tony Singh, 34, was arrested Monday morning on the Resorts Atlantic City casino floor, carrying between $500 and $600. He also had a 6-inch survival knife and a bus ticket to New York.

"Frances Stampone, 80, and her husband John, 79, had ridden a Caesars elevator to return to their hotel room at about 10 p.m. Sunday. When they stepped off at the 33rd floor, the man who had ridden the elevator with them grabbed Frances Stampone's purse.

"The couple resisted, but both were kicked and punched to the floor. The man returned to the elevator and left the scene.

"...Resorts surveillance operator Mohammed Rahman noticed a man who matched the description on the casino floor there about 10 a.m. Resorts security detained Singh until police arrived to arrest him..."
